Hesed (Caring Committee)

Hesed translates as compassion, and our Caring Committee is dedicated to helping our congregation be a presence in people’s lives during times of need. Presently, the committee has three foci, providing rides to services and events, organizing minions for funerals and shiva services, and doing bikur cholim, visiting and providing for people who are ill.

Rides

If you would like a ride to a Mt. Sinai service or program please contact our secretary, Kellie Messman, This email address is being protected from spambots. Funeral and Shiva Minion

We are blessed to live in an age where many people live to an extraordinary age. One challenge that this presents is that when a person dies there are often very few family or friends who can be in Wausau for the service and therefore not enough people to make up a minion. Our Caring Committee works with families to ensure that there is a minion at the service and shiva. If you would like to be on our list of people who make themselves available for minions, please contact Rabbi Dan at This email address is being protected from spambots.
